Case Studies

London Development Agency
Wembley National Stadium

Location, size and uses

24 plots of land and buildings adjacent to the new Wembley National Stadium.

The brief

To advise on and implement the Compulsory Purchase of land and buildings adjacent to the new Stadium.

Key objectives and constraints

The LDA is seeking to take advantage of the development of the new National Stadium as a catalyst for regeneration of the surrounding area. The purpose of the Compulsory Purchase Order is therefore to provide a bridge over a railway line between the stadium and Wembley High Road, thus providing a link between land to the north which is to be developed by Quintain, and the existing rundown town centre which is also to be improved.

Actions and outcome

The new bridge is now under construction, most of the interests have already been acquired or terms agreed, thus far without recourse to Tribunal, and we are confident that the role will be fulfilled in accordance with the brief.

Knight Frank input
